13 hours in the hospital is too long.

A week after Jesse's sinus surgery he sends me selfie from work saying, "first real nose bleed!" thinking it was just a normal fine thing. I panicked a little knowing that bleeding after surgery is no bueno. He came into the office and --I will spare the gory details-- he got his nose cauterized and we were back home. At about 4:30 am the next morning he wakes up and the other side of his nose is bleeding. Luckily, I have our doctors number so I texted him and he immediately calls and tells us to head to the emergency room and he will meet us there. We got to the hospital around 5:30 and the the doctor got there around 6:30 (because no one called him like they were supposed to....). The doctor went to work and --sparing the even gorier details-- he was cauterized and packed once again. We were told to just wait there until the doctor was done with his morning surgery cases and to see if Jesse would bleed anymore. If he bled anymore we were told that he would need more surgery to see where he was bleeding. And he bled. A lot. We were in the little ER room from 5:30 to 11:00 when they came and got him to go into surgery. Jesse was in surgery from about 11:30 to 1:30 and he woke up A LOT better than his first surgery. The doctor came back to talk to me before I was able to see him and said that he didn't find any one source of the bleeding and he was able to cauterize quite a bit. We were admitted to the hospital and had to wait until about 6:00 pm so that the doctor could make sure he was on the mend and able to go home. At 6:30 we went home! And now he has been doing very well. We have been sleeping at his parent's so that he can be in a recliner and we are taking it super easy. We are going to Oregon next week so he needs to get better!
I am so thankful that we both have such great jobs that were so understanding and supportive of our situation. I know that we have been blessed throughout this healing process and now hopefully we will not be back to the ER ever!!

On June 17th Jesse had to get some polyps removed from his nose and it was quite the adventure!
He is not a fan of needles so the doctor prescribed him some Valium to take the night before and an hour before the surgery. When he was on it he was very loopy and could barely walk straight. He fell asleep in the pre-op room and made jokes about Justin Bieber.

His surgery was about 2 and half hours long and went very well. The trouble happened after. Because the Valium impacted him so much he had a hard time waking up out of anesthesia. It took him almost 3 hours, they even had to call the anesthesiologist from home so he could help them wake Jesse up. He was very tired and just wanted to sleep but he had to get his oxygen levels up so that he could go home. Eventually I bossed him into breathing enough and we got home and he crashed. Angie made us some delicious soup, but all Jesse ate was a frosty from Wendy's. I wish I could have posted a funny video of Jesse waking up but it was scary listening to his heart rate move up and down and him just wanting to be home.

Now that we are home and he is on pain meds he is getting pretty funny. He is very disoriented and keeps talking about who he would draft in the NBA draft. Hopefully he continues to improve so we can get back to normal and have some fun!

These are from our trip to Montana on Memorial Day weekend.
 A panorama from Yellowstone park.
A golden eagle!! He was huge! And he also pooped right before this picture.....
It was super awesome there. So we needed to take a selfie apparently....
 Seriously beautiful.
This whole mountain was burned in a fire a couple years ago.
The trail up to the waterfalls!

 The falls!

 He found a big rock!
It was a good weekend.
Here are some pictures from our anniversary weekend!
That little bitty trail down there is where we ended up! It was actually scary!
That hat saved Jesse's ginger skin...I wasn't as lucky...
We are on those cool rocks you saw by the waterfall in the first picture!
It was very pretty! But also very muddy!

 I got a little burnt.....
The waterfall as the sun was setting.
We also went to Manito Park and walked through the cool gardens! I loved this rose.
 Anniversary selfie.....
 Yum. Yum. Yum.

1 year down...many to go!

For our first anniversary I thought that it would be a good idea to start a blog so that we can see how things change and keep in touch with our family. (I also want a good place to store pictures...)
This first year was exciting and we learned a lot about ourselves and about what marriage is really about. I am excited to see what the future holds!
There was a lot that happened this last year and hopefully we will put pictures up of some of the things we did. It started off with our honeymoon in Florida where went to Universal Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom. We went there specifically for Harry Potter world where we got wands, drank butter beer and ate at the 3 Broomsticks! The rides and different lands were amazing, some of our favorite rides were The Hulk, Transformers, and the Journey to Hogwarts. Since we were in Orlando it dumped more rain than I have ever seen every afternoon, it was crazy. We got to go to the Orlando temple while we were there too and it was so beautiful.
About 2 weeks after that we went to Boise for my Grandpa Bues' 80th birthday and a little family reunion. It was so much fun reconnecting with all my family down there. Unfortunately, Jesse had to leave straight from Boise to Colorado for work for about a week. This was not a fun time, but we got through it I guess.
Later that summer we got to go to Seattle for a Mariners game and to hang out with Cooie's family. We went crabbing and had lots of fun. It was a good weekend, but never again will we eat 2 orders of garlic fries.........
In September Jesse really set the bar high for birthday presents. He got me a racing experience. I got to drive a real race car for 12 laps at the Spokane Speedway. It was amazing and a little scary... those things go fast and you can feel the pull when you go around the corner!
In October Jesse could finally say he went to a concert that was not Justin Bieber. We went to Jason Mraz and Raining Jane with Samm and Amanda. It was a good time other than the rude grandma that wouldn't switch us 1 spot.
Christmas was spent with family and not much snow. Jesse and his grandpa made some amazing lamps for me that look like the Deathly Hallows from Harry Potter.
Jeff and Jenny came up around New Years and we spent a lot of time playing games and having fun with Kate. We became besties while she was here.
After that Kayle came up and we got to meet Burton for the first time celebrate Kenzie Bo Benzie's birthday!
We went down to Provo for a weekend in March for a friend's wedding and I had In n Out burger for the first time, and now that is all I want. It was fun seeing Jesse's old stomping ground and eating a Kong Kone! In March our really good friends Bethany and Nathan got married so those festivites were fun.
In May we got the opportunity to visit Jesse's Grandma Merry in Livingston, Montana. It was a very good time. Her family helped settle the area so it was fun hearing all the stories about that place.
And now we just got back from a night at Palouse Falls which was interesting. There was a beautiful hike and it was nice to just relax for a minute.
